HE'S A LOSER, SHE SAID
Who is Static-X?
Static-X is a nu-metal/industrial metal band that originated from Los Angeles; active years were 1994-2010, 2012-2013, and 2018-present day. The band was originally called "Drill" from 1994 to 1995 until they renamed themselves to Static-X, where Wayne Richard Wells (pictured right) adopted the name Wayne Static. The band took a hiatus in 2010 while Wayne Static worked on his solo project. Wayne passed away in 2014, and the original band members wished to honor his memory by reforming the band in 2018, with lead singer Xero taking the apperance of Wayne Static in robotic form.
Members
The band's first members were Wayne Static, Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, and Ken Jay. Past members include Tripp Eisen, Nick Oshiro, Brent Ashley, Andy the Kid, Diego Ibarra, and Sean Davidson.
The Band's Effect On Me
The band has been one of my favorites for a while now, and Wayne Static has become an inspiration for me; his mannerism, style, and music especially. I slowly learned about the band's history and it seems really sad, seeing their downfall years after it happened. Static-X and "Evil Disco" still does remain a joy for me, and I appreciate the band members for honoring Wayne.
