Ginger Snaps is a werewolf movie released on May 4th, 2001, starring Emily Perkins as Brigitte Fitzgerald and Katharine Isabelle as Ginger Fitzgerald. The movie inspired Machine Girl's debut album Wlfgrl.
Ginger and Brigitte Fitzgerald are sisters obsessed with death. They've made a pact, "Out by sixteen, or dead in this scene." In the original script, where Brigitte was supposed to have a voiceover in the movie, the pact is explained: Ginger and Brigitte promised each other that one of them would move away from their current life before Ginger's 16th birthday, and if they don't then they were supposed to kill themselves together in their garage.
I think Ginger's period and werewolf transformations are similar to maturing and growing up, with Ginger becoming more confident and popular.
I discovered this movie from Tumblr, seeing gifs and getting really interested. This is my favorite horror movie to date, even though I can't really explain why? I'm not sure.

I suppose it's because of the relationship of the sisters, and how much it relates to myself. I'm an older sister myself, and seeing Ginger's sudden maturing being equal to her danger, anger, and literally transformation to a beast felt similar to mine.
